HEATER CONNECTION GUIDE
Current
instructions, which may differ from those found here, may be sent with
this product when it is shipped.
When connecting a heater, the water supply must come from below the
thermostat. The heater will not work properly if the water flow is controlled
by the thermostat.
TO CONNECT A HEATER:
-
Remove the temperature sending unit from the intake manifold, install a
tee in it's place. (B)
-
Place the temperature sending unit in the side of the tee, the hose adapter
goes in the top.
-
Remove the plug from the side of the circulating pump (A). Install the
hose adapter.
-
Connect the hose adapter on the tee to the bottom fitting on the heater
(C). Connect the hose adapter on the circulating pump (A) to the upper
fitting on the heater (D). This will allow the water to circulate in the
proper direction, as well as eliminate air pockets.
-
If you have a 4 cylinder or a straight 6 cylinder, connect the water going
to the bottom of the heater to the lower thermostat housing. The lower
housing will have 2 or 3 water ports.
Use the same hook up for hot water tanks. Most hot water tanks have
the water connections side by side, it will not make any difference how
they are connected.
